Roulette Principles and Strategies

Roulette is a game in which players bet on the probability that different numbers, combinations of numbers or sectors of red or black will fall out. The gaming table has a wheel with the numbers 37 or 38 on it, as well as areas that show different types of bets. After players place chips in specific areas, the croupier launches a ball on the wheel. The ball drops into a cell with any number, and this determines the outcome of the round: someone wins or loses all bets.

Players can try different versions of roulette for free in modern casinos without spending money to choose their favorite.

History of Roulette: Roulette was created by accident. In the 17th century, French mathematician Blaise Pascal tried to invent a perpetual motion machine, which led to the game. However, there is evidence of more ancient games similar to roulette.

For example, in ancient China, there was a game in which 37 animal figures were moved around a square with numbers making the total number 666. There is no reliable information about how the game came to Europe, nor about how the square became a wheel. However, the modern wheel has the sum of the numbers 666.

Soldiers from ancient Rome and Greece also played similar games. Two famous 17th century games, “Roly Poly” and “Even-Odd,” are part of modern casino roulette. Both involved spinning a wheel and placing bets in response to the spinning of the wheel. When Blaise Pascal invented his version of the wheel, he must have known about these games.

The history of European roulette begins when two French entrepreneurs, François and Louis Blanc, removed the double zero from the roulette wheel in 1842, leading to the French version. German casinos began to gain fame after they introduced their game in Germany.

Roulette Principles and Strategies

Roulette migrated to North America in the 19th century along with settlers. However, the variant with two zeros became popular here. This is how American roulette began.

The aim of the game is to battle the ever-changing Lady Luck by betting a certain number, combination or color and then getting a big win for a relatively small bet. The player plays against the casino and must guess where the ball will go when the wheel stops. The rules of online roulette games are the same.
